With Strangers invites you to connect through shared experiences - each one intentionally curated to inspire conversation, spark curiosity, and nurture deep community.

From intimate dinners to experimental art workshops to slumber party movie nights, every With Strangers experience is a new opportunity to ditch the chit-chat and tell each other our real stories.

Founded by Jess Janz in 2017, With Strangers started as monthly dinners in her friend Ryan’s hair studio in Toronto. Since then, Jess has hosted over 50 sold out dinners, connecting more than 900 people across Canada and the US.

Now, With Strangers invites you to discover the richness of shared experiences.

What first started as an intimate dinner series is now an array of unique events and local collaborations. With Strangers experiences are designed to feed our shared hunger for connection.

  • Gather with twelve other strangers for a four-course, family style dinner! With the only rule being no work talk, guests will be guided through questions that get us talking about where we’re from, what we’re learning, and what we care about.

  • Real life is where it’s at! Meet other strangers at monthly hang-outs: whether we’re taking a dance lesson or going to a concert, trying out an art class or going to yoga, IRL partners with local events and businesses to not only try new things but to connect with new people.

  • Find more ways to dig in and connect with each other through workshops and retreats - new offerings are added all the time!

  • Meet Jess wherever she’s at, or have her come to you! Jess creates custom experiences that get to the heart of things and encourages guests to connect by asking good questions and invoking inspiration through storytelling.
